Service Description
TAMAR works on researching, protecting and managing the five species of sea turtles that occur in Brazil, all of which are threatened with extinction: loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta), hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata), green turtle (Chelonia mydas), olive turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea) and leatherback turtle (Dermochelys coriacea). The socio-environmental work developed with coastal communities serves as a model for other countries. Through technical and scientific cooperation agreements and protocols with Brazilian and foreign universities, it conducts study programs to better understand the turtle life cycle and prioritize actions that are capable of optimizing efforts to achieve the results of population recovery. Includes lunch. *Prices for hotels located in Florianópolis.
